Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for filling)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter over dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll dough tightly into a log and slice into 1-inch thick rolls.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. While rolls are baking, prepare frosting: In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  11. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  12. Add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  13. Once rolls are baked, let them cool slightly before frosting.
  14. Spread cream cheese frosting over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped nuts to the filling.
  • You can also use a pre-made cream cheese frosting.
  • Store leftover rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
