Description

Easy and delicious breakfast rolls perfect for a quick morning meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 31/4 to 3-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar, salt, butter, egg, and milk.
  2. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down dough. Shape into rolls and place on a baking sheet.
  6. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For sweeter rolls, increase sugar to 1/2 cup.
  • Brush with melted butter after baking for extra flavor.
