- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking until butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine browned butter and brown sugar. Beat until smooth.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in rolled oats.
- Press mixture evenly into prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
