- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your favorite pizza toppings
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Top with mozzarella cheese and your favorite pizza toppings.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or Italian sausage.
- Feel free to add other vegetables, such as mushrooms, olives, or spinach.
- For a spicier pizza, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
