Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Your favorite pizza toppings

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Add onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Top with mozzarella cheese and your favorite pizza toppings.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or Italian sausage.
