Description
Easy Caramel Chocolate Poke Cake inspired by Twix candy bars. A moist chocolate cake with caramel and chocolate topping.
Ingredients

- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- Ingredients called for on cake mix box (usually eggs, oil, and water)
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 (11.5 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup Twix candy bars, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare chocolate cake according to box directions in a 9×13 inch pan.
- Let cake cool for 15 minutes. Poke holes all over the cake with a fork or wooden spoon handle.
- Pour sweetened condensed milk over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the cake.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine milk chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Pour chocolate ganache over the cake.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Sprinkle with chopped Twix candy bars before serving, if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate chips for the ganache.
- You can substitute store-bought caramel sauce with homemade caramel.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
