Description

A hearty and flavorful chili recipe without beans. Perfect for a quick and easy meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (4 oz) can diced green chilies
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped onions

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large pot over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic, chili powder, cumin, and oregano. Cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and green chilies. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For a spicier chili, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
  • Chili can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
