Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 3 tbsp (45g) cream cheese or Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • Pinch of salt (optional, for flavor)
  • Optional add-ins: garlic powder, onion powder, Italian herbs, shredded cheese, or a dash of cinnamon and vanilla for sweet versions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Separate the eggs and place the whites in one bowl and the yolks in another.
  3. Beat the egg whites and cream of tartar on high until stiff peaks form.
  4. In the second bowl, whisk the egg yolks with cream cheese or yogurt until smooth and creamy.
  5. Gently fold the egg yolk mixture into the whipped egg whites.
  6. Spoon spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming round “buns” about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden and slightly firm.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
