Classic green bean casserole with a cheesy cheddar twist. A comforting and flavorful side dish.

- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 1/3 cups French fried onions, divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Steam or boil green beans until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well.
- In a bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, pepper, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, and green beans.
- Pour mixture into a casserole dish.
- Top with remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and 2/3 cup French fried onions.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted.
- Sprinkle remaining 2/3 cup French fried onions over the top and bake for another 5 minutes, or until onions are golden brown.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk.
- Add a pinch of garlic powder for extra flavor.
- Use different types of cheese for a unique taste.
