A hearty and flavorful turkey chili, perfect for a healthy and satisfying meal.
Ingredients

- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15 oz) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, avocado, cilantro
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onion and bell pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Add crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and chicken broth.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of chili powder and cayenne pepper to your preferred level of spice.
- For a thicker chili, simmer uncovered for the last 15-20 minutes.
- Chili can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
