Ingredients

  • 1 lb Okra, chopped
  • 1 lb Assorted Meats (Beef, Goat, Tripe)
  • 1 cup Cooked Assorted Fish (Mackerel, Catfish)
  • 1 cup Ground Crayfish
  • 1/2 cup Palm Oil
  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 2 Scotch Bonnet Peppers, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Ground Egusi (Melon Seeds)
  • 2 cups Beef or Chicken Broth
  • 1 tbsp Ogiri Okpei (Fermented Locust Beans)
  • Salt to taste
  • Seasoning cubes to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare meats: Boil assorted meats until tender. Season with salt and seasoning cubes.
  2. Cook okra: In a separate pot, heat palm oil. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add broth: Pour in beef or chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  4. Incorporate ingredients: Add ground crayfish, ground egusi, ogiri okpei, and chopped scotch bonnet peppers. Stir well.
  5. Combine meats and fish: Add cooked assorted meats and fish to the pot.
  6. Simmer: Allow the soup to simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Add okra: Add chopped okra and cook until it reaches your desired consistency.
  8. Season and serve: Season with salt and seasoning cubes to taste. Serve hot with fufu, eba, or pounded yam.

  • Adjust the quantity of pepper to suit your spice preference.
  • You can substitute assorted meats and fish with your preferred choices.
  • Ogiri Okpei adds a unique flavor but can be omitted if unavailable.
