Description

Enjoy these simple Greek yogurt breakfast biscuits. They are flaky, moist, and golden brown.


Ingredients

  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 egg (for glaze)
  • 1 tsp water (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Measure dry ingredients. Cube butter and refrigerate.
  2. Pour dry ingredients into a bowl. Add butter and cut into the flour until it resembles coarse cornmeal.
  3. Whisk together Greek yogurt, egg, and water in a separate bowl.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into the flour-butter mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface. Knead gently 8-10 times.
  6. Roll dough to 1 inch thick. Cut into shapes and place on baking sheets. Brush with egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.

Notes

  • Keep butter as cold as possible for flaky biscuits.
  • Do not overwork the dough.
