Description
This TikTok Salmon Rice Bowl is a viral recipe inspired by Emily Mariko. It’s quick, easy, and delicious.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 to 2 cooked salmon filets (about 4 oz. each)
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 ice cube
- 1/2 avocado, diced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (to taste)
- 1 to 2 tbsp kewpie mayonnaise (to taste)
- 2 tsp sriracha (to taste, optional)
- kimchi (to taste, optional)
- sesame seeds (to taste, optional)
- 12 roasted seaweed sheets (optional)
Instructions
- Prep: Flake cold salmon into small pieces in a microwave-safe bowl. Add leftover rice.
- Place one ice cube in the center of the rice.
- Microwave: Cover the bowl with parchment paper or a paper plate (allowing steam to escape) and microwave on high for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes.
- Remove the bowl and discard any remaining ice.
- Add: Mix soy sauce, mayonnaise, and sriracha (if using) with rice/salmon until combined.
- Finish: Top with diced avocado, more mayonnaise, sriracha (optional), and soy sauce to taste. Sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional).
- Enjoy as-is OR add kimchi and wrap the rice mixture in seaweed pieces.
Notes
- Kewpie mayonnaise can be substituted with regular mayonnaise or sriracha mayo.
- Kimchi can be replaced with crunchy carrots or cucumber.
- Seaweed is optional. The salmon rice bowl is enjoyable without it.
