Description

A hearty and flavorful chili featuring ground turkey, black beans, and a blend of spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground turkey over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the onion and bell pepper to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  3. Add the black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, and oregano to the pot. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Bring the chili to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for at least 30 minutes, or up to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Add corn for sweetness.
  • Adjust spices to your preference.
  • Top with cheese, sour cream, or avocado.
