- 6–8 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons vegan butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 box (14.1 ounces) refrigerated vegan pie crusts
- 2 tablespoons plant-based milk, for brushing
- Turbinado sugar, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Stir in vegan butter.
- Line a pie dish with one pie crust.
- Pour apple mixture into the crust.
- Top with the second pie crust. Crimp edges to seal. Cut slits in the top crust.
- Brush with plant-based milk and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Adjust sugar based on apple sweetness.
- Use different apple varieties for complex flavor.
- Cover edges with foil to prevent burning.
