Make simple vegan flax waffles with only 1 ingredient.

- 1 cup (104 g) flaxseed meal
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (250 mL) water
Instructions
- Preheat waffle maker to MEDIUM heat.
- Grind the flaxseed into a light, fluffy flour.
- In a bowl, whisk the flaxseed meal and optional salt. Whisk in the water until smooth.
- Let batter stand for 5 minutes to thicken.
- Open heated waffle maker and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- Spoon batter on the plates of the waffle maker.
- Use a spoon to spread the batter evenly over the plates.
- Close the lid and cook the waffles for 14 to 16 minutes.
- Open the waffle maker and remove the waffles. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Store cooled waffles in an airtight container for 1 day at room temperature, 5 days in the refrigerator, or 3 months in the freezer.
- Use fresh flaxseed meal.
- Do not add sugar or sweeteners to the recipe.
